The "before" was one of my very first deviations on dA from back in 2004, pretty embarrassing crazy.
Safe to say a lot of improvement, no? 8D (well it IS an 8 year difference). The piece from 2004 was drawn on with a mouse on probably windows 98plus (maybe 2000??), a CRT monitor at 800x600 or so resolution and drawn on opencanvas and paintshop pro..my, how times have changed. I have learned a lot since then ! *pats 2004-me on the back*
I titled the new piece 'Metamorphosis' because it's a transformation into something that is more matured, different, and refreshed (a breath of new life!), while still having the same essence/soul as the original. The title reflects the piece itself and also my own development in skills and complexity. Or maybe she's just possessed by the rabbit now, haha
wow what a difference haha..the new version looks great! It looks like it could be printed for story book art You've really come a long way..Looking through your gallery, I can see that you're very versatile. Something that I am indeed envious of! I'm kind of stuck in the anime trap T__T Now that I've switched my major to art, I have been forced to draw a lot of non-anime stuff. I need to get out of the trap o_o So far, I haven't liked any of my new works enough to post...I'm still working on it lol
Nuuu, get out of the anime clutch! You've already mastered that technique, time to master others! It is a very dangerous trap, and a hard one to get out of! Just keep going and try new stuff and get out of your comfort zone. You've got the talent and drive, so I know you can do it and it will be wonderful! I'm so excited to get to see new stuff from you, when you're ready to post!
yeah, I know I know >.< it is very dangerous indeed...I'm stuck pretty deep in the trap, but i'm trying to get out of it. My past few projects have been anime-free. Unfortunately the style always begins to manifest itself when I'm trying to draw other things..such as realism lol T_T I just need to keep practicing. But yes, I hope to post some of my new work when I have more time

I am all for simplicity though so the first has to be my favorite
